Prevent Foundation Repairs - Trees Should Be Far Enough Away From Your Home

Have you ever planted trees too close to your home? Perhaps you purchased a home where a tree was planted too close. My mom's home has a Sago Palm that has been right up near the front of the house, only a foot away, for years and years. Granted it's a Sago Palm, so even at near 40 years old, the tree is only four feet tall.

Still, trees should be at least 15 feet away from your home, and really you should give it several more feet than that. They take away from what a foundation needs to stay structurally sound, and then you wind up needing foundation repairs.
